Exhibition Fluctuat text

Caroline de Boissieu's work stands out for its constant pursuit of light, transparency,
and fluidity.
She primarily works on tracing paper, combining acrylic and ink, which gives her
creations a unique depth and remarkable sensitivity. Caroline de Boissieu plays with
transparency and layering effects, creating works that seem to vibrate under the
influence of light. These transparent overlays, evoking impressions of evanescence
and timelessness, lend an almost spiritual dimension to her creations.
Her work is inspired by natural elements such as water, air, or vegetation, without
representing them literally. This dialogue between the tangible and the imaginary
grants viewers great freedom of interpretation.
Her approach can be compared to several modern and contemporary artists,
whether in the lyrical abstraction of Zao Wou-Ki, where nature is evoked and
luminous textures and nuances seek to capture fleeting impressions, or in the
abstract works of Gerhard Richter, who explores layering, transparency, and the
dynamics of color. These elements resonate with Caroline de Boissieu's fluid
superpositions.
Ultimately, what makes her work unique is its ability to capture and elevate the
invisible through innovative techniques and a rare poetic sensitivity, offering a
profoundly immersive and introspective experience. Her works reflect an implicit
philosophy where art becomes a form of wisdom in motion.

Christophe DELAVAULT, Paris, February 28, 2025

C’est ce qui se lit dans l’écriture picturale riche et complexe de Caroline de Boissieu : il y a du sens, entre l’air et l’eau, l’opacité et la transparence, toutes les tensions sont présentes.
