Exposition Fluctuat 2025

Exhibition Fluctuat

Caroline de Boissieu's work is distinguished by a constant pursuit of light, transparency and fluidity.

She works primarily on tracing paper, combining acrylic and ink, which lends her creations a unique depth and remarkable sensitivity. Caroline de Boissieu plays with effects of transparency and layering, creating works that seem to vibrate under the influence of light. These interplays of transparency, evoking impressions of evanescence and timelessness, give her creations an almost spiritual dimension.

Her works draw inspiration from natural elements such as water, air and vegetation, without representing them in a literal sense. This dialogue between the tangible and the imaginary grants the viewer great freedom of interpretation.

This body of work can be linked to several modern and contemporary artists — whether in the lyrical abstraction of Zao Wou-Ki, where nature is evoked through textures and luminous nuances that seek to capture fleeting impressions, or in the abstract works of Gerhard Richter, which explore layers, transparencies and the dynamics of colour, and which can likewise be compared to Caroline de Boissieu's fluid superimpositions. In short, what makes this work unique is its ability to capture and elevate the invisible through innovative techniques and a rare poetic sensibility, while offering a deeply immersive and introspective experience. Her works convey an implicit philosophy in which art becomes a form of wisdom in motion.

C’est ce qui se lit dans l’écriture picturale riche et complexe de Caroline de Boissieu : il y a du sens, entre l’air et l’eau, l’opacité et la transparence, toutes les tensions sont présentes.
