TRANSPARENCY, ONE OF MY FAVOURITE THEMES.
I use it in my paintings where aquatic and aerial elements are omnipresent. Light and reflections play with the translucent depth of a fluid, moving material.
It is naturally that I turn to increasingly limpid supports: tracing paper, then glass to let the outside light pass through and animate my pictorial creations. Water, a source of inspiration, finds power, depth and life. The use of glass leads me to exploit the architectural dimension of my paintings. I conceive some of my works as an integral part of buildings where they introduce their clarity. In collaboration with glassmakers and architects, I create works designed to enliven the interior space.
